Monday Delights #35: bees, birthdays, breakfast

What delights you this week? Here’s a bit of “Kawaii.” Just looking at cute things can help us feel more positive about each other. These puppies mystified by a toy puppy put a smile on my face. Do they delight you, too?

Something is in the air pushes me to focus on DELIGHT this year.

As a reminder of what delight can do for us, here’s a bit of inspiration from NPR.

Today is “neither rain nor snow day.” Is that about postal delivery? It must be.

Okay, this does look a little sad. Yet, the mail still gets delivered here.

Here’s a few things that delight me this week:

Birthdays: September should be mini-Christmas in this family. CoCo, Wrestler #1, Three friends and one sister all have birthdays the first week of September. Such a joyful time of dinners, presents, and cake. Not to mention the most delightful dessert of all: ice cream!

Bees: Blooming garlic chives! The honeybees delight in the nectar. I imagine a puzzled beekeeper with slightly garlic-flavored honey. I suppose I shouldn’t delight in such a surprise. Still, I do chuckle at the idea of a beekeeper shaking his finger at the bees and admonishing them, “Where have you been?” and “Stay in your clover, you naughty wanderers.”

Breakfast: Oh to lounge over a delightful breakfast with Loved-One and the morning newspaper. Such a wonderful way to start the day. And September happens to be National Better Breakfast Month.

The more I look for things that delight me, the more I find delights. There’s so much in the world that makes me smile.

A delightful breakfast with a smile

I hope you find delight this week.

At last, vaccination rates moved in my state. We still at just a little over 66%. Because of the low rate of vaccination and high rate of infections, the Governor re-instated a mask mandate for all indoor events.

If you waited, I hope the recent approval of the Pfizer vaccine helps allay your fears.

Some people are too young, others are immune-compromised or have other medical issues. Let’s be neighborly and protect those that can’t get vaccinated.

I really look forward to the day that I no longer feel the need to update readers on this subject!

I hope this week brings you delight upon delight.
