What delights you this week? Here’s a bit of “Kawaii.” Just looking at cute things can help us feel more positive about each other. Today, it’s real baby because this infant with an old-fashioned babuska just lifted my heart. What delights you today?
Something is in the air pushes me to focus on DELIGHT this year.
As a reminder of what delight can do for us, here’s a bit of inspiration from NPR.
Today is “Ask a stupid question day.”
When I found out about this day, I mind immediately when to my early career in the microbiology lab. My boss asked me to attend the morning staff meeting with all the big wigs. Cindy was substituting for her boss too.
“Any questions?” The site manager said.
Cindy: “Is the alphabet in that order because of the song?”
Oh, my word. So many years later. Her “stupid question” delights me to this very day.
Here’s a few other things that delight me this week:
Clouds: This week I saw pink clouds in the evening, storm clouds in the morning, and these wispy wonders over the ball field in Milwaukee.
Cicadas: The last time the cicadas hatched in full force, we had just moved in to our new home. Loved-One captured a few and brought them home, hoping that we’d have them next time around. Seventeen years later, we do. So many delightful memories between then and now.
Cycling: I’m pretty sure I mentioned this as a delight earlier in the summer. This week, CoCo, Loved-One and I bicycled around a local recreational area. Fall is here. And it is so delightful.
The more I look for things that delight me, the more I find delights. There’s so much in the world that makes me smile.
I hope you find delight this week.
The vaccination rate moved a tiny faction, so it’s now a solid 68%. My county reports a “very large” number of new cases and the ICUs at 92% capacity. Yikes! If these numbers don’t improve, we could be required to limit gathering sizes. We’re moving in the wrong directions..
If you waited, I hope the recent approval of the Pfizer vaccine helps allay your fears.
Some people are too young, others are immune-compromised or have other medical issues. Let’s be neighborly and protect those that can’t get vaccinated.

I really look forward to the day that I no longer feel the need to update readers on this subject!
I hope this week brings you delight upon delight.
