This cute little kitten is a bit of “Kawaii,” because, you know, just looking at cute things can help us feel more positive about each other? Awww…

Something is in the air pushes me to focus on DELIGHT this year.

This is Black History Month. Until Black History is just part of regular old history, each week I’ll add a snippet or quote. Today’s quote is from Susan L. Taylor.

This week’s contribution is from a jazz singer.

As a reminder of what delight can do for us, here’s a bit of inspiration from NPR.

Here’s a few other things that delighted me this week:

  • Animal tracks in the snow: My yard is criss-crossed with tracks. Some lead to my water-garden. I have a small heater on it, protecting the fish from freezing solid and keeping the water aerated. This small hole serves as a watering place for all creatures big and small. Yes, I see deer tracks leading to the pond.
  • Friendly nurses: I got my vaccination this week. The people manning the registration, checking the appointments, and finally the cheerful nurse all acted as though I was their only client. How delightful!
Look at all those tracks! None of those are people prints.

I hope you find delight this week. I know it made me feel better.

The UK variant lurks in two neighboring counties. As one expert put it:

Covid variants are like ants, there’s no such thing as just having one.

We will win this war. We just need to remain diligent.

In the meantime, don’t forget to practice the four Ws:

  • Wear a mask;
  • Watch your distance,
  • Wash your hands, and
  • Work together.
  • (And Win this war.)

How about you? What absolutely filled you with delight this week? Please share. Chances are you will delight me!
