Pause, Breathe, and Take Stock: 2017-45

Last week marked the end of my consulting at Adello. What started as a month, turned out to be nine months.  I may be asked back after the New Year, but for now, it’s goodbye.  I kept it low-profile because, well, you know, who wants to say goodbye, if it’s not real.  Still, a strawberry shortcake piled high with whipped cream frosting and the most lovely card ever, and I left feeling so, so seen and appreciated. [tweetthis]I do strive for kindness. Not a bad goal to continue into 2018.[/tweetthis]

Here are a few more things, in no particular order that remind me how blessed my life is:

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Rez Book Club: A group of friends who like to read and who also care enough to spread kindness.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  A freelance writing job where I meet all so many kind and inspiring people.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Christmas decoration: Inside and outside of houses, filling the world around me with light and hope.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  NixPlay photo frame: A year-in-review wakes up for me as I walk by and reminds me of all the people, places, and things that fill up my life.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  A cold that caught me, kept me home from my siblings’ Christmas celebration and forced me to rest. Not that I enjoy illness, but sometimes my body needs to say “halt” in ways that I cannot ignore.  I may take a nap this afternoon, just to let my body know I am still listening.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  The TV show “Orville:” A little bit sci-fi, a little bit comedy, a whole lot of social commentary.  This one really stuck in my mind.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Suet and seed at the bird feeder: The social order  in the bird world is quite fascinating

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Grandchildren in Holiday pageants: Tonight is the last one.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Church choirs and Christmas carols, everywhere I go.

[icon name=”bell-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Christmas Pajama making: Sewing reminds me of Mom, grandkids, Christmas, and 4-H all at once. What a potpourri of memories. And I always have a helper.  I love it.
