The Little Things: 2018-6

Here we are at Monday again.  [tweetthis]Wasn’t it just yesterday that I grumbled at the long dark January days?[/tweetthis]  Now I am busy, busy, busy with end of the year programs and graduations, weeds in the flowerbeds, and season finales.  My oh my, the weeks fly by.  I’m reminded of my grandmother telling me how slow time goes when you are young and that the older you get the faster the days go by until the seasons just blur together.  I do believe I’m there Grandma!  I am so thankful for her wisdom and my ability to remember her words from a time when they sounded, um, a little….I don’t want to say that.  Let’s just say that I was far from understanding.

Here are a few more things that bring me delight:

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  A 17th birthday for Mr. D and lots of time to share thoughts and laughs.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Miss E graduating from high school.

Miss E is in there somewhere.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Miss K’s confirmation.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Mr. R1, Mr. R2, Miss K’s end of year program.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  A last-minute substitute for an obligation that interfered with attending all these events.  Thank you, dear friend, Linda.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]   An indigo bunting at the bird feeder.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  A successful galaxy mirror cake for the birthday cake.  [tweetthis]Thank you Epicurious and YouTube.  Without you I couldn’t have done it.[/tweetthis]  And Facebook, without you I would never have known about mirror glaze. Mr. L liked it so much that he requested a red, white, and blue mirror cake in August.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Rainy days and clean counters.  Without the first, the second would not have happened.  My heart sings to the sight of clean counters.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Lisa Romeo and her memoir, Starting with Goodbye.  She makes my heart sob.  In a good way.  Anyways, I recognize what what she went through.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  A new job, reviewing and writing for a small pharmaceutical company.  And yay!  I can do most of the work remotely.  In other words, from home.

[icon name=”heart-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  iNaturalists that identifies the living things in photos.  The provided hours of fun with Mr. C after a photo positively identified him as Homo sapiens, with the next best match, domesticated canine.  It must be the hair.

What makes you smile this week?  You always make me remember more reasons to rejoice.  Please share.
