OMGoodness! Where do I start?
It’s not so much clutter, it’s STUFF. I like to have the surfaces clean. Nothing on my kitchen countertops except a few small appliances. My desk clear and clutter-free. Well, I do need to get it cleaned off right now, and get myself organized for the new year. Once that’s accomplished, I can think again.
But…
It’s all the stuff that’s squirreled away and forgotten. Have I run out of storage space? Maybe. Is there a fire hazard here? If you ask the folks at NIST, yes. According to the experts, twenty years ago, we’d have 30 minutes to evacuate a burning house. Now, it’s just three minutes! All because of the amount of paper and other flammables in our houses.
demonstration on what happens when a Christmas tree catches on fire really motivated me to change my habits.
Yikes! I better get myself motivated again.
I’m a long way from a PackRat, but there sure are a lot of things that could go. They are all bagged and boxed, I just need to put them in the car and take them to the donation center.
Where would you like to reduce clutter? Please share your plan. I could use a little support here!
