Gratitude Monday: old and new and old again

generations

I hope you notice a distinct absence last week.  I only got in my “Photo Friday” post.  That’s because, [tweetthis]spur of the moment, I decided to road-trip it on Sunday.[/tweetthis]  I visited my Best-Blogger-Girlfriend on Sunday afternoon, then headed for Michigan for a visit with Mom. It’s not surprise to me that #1 on my list is FRIENDS, old and new.  That includes moms, sisters, daughters, and their male counter-parts.  In no particular order, here’s what else is on my gratitude list this Monday Morning.’

[icon name=”file-text” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Old files. Yes, it’s spring.  Time for an annual attempt to purge those things I no longer need.  I’m finding some great memories, some forgotten treasures, and clearing space for new. My favorite this week is my “Weekly Compass” note pad reminding me to 1) connect to my Mission; 2) review my roles; 3) identify my goals; 4) organize my week; 5) exercise integrity; and 6) Evaluate.  Perhaps I will begin again, with a new end in mind.

[icon name=”amazon” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Mail-order arrivals.  There’s something about ordering by mail that makes me feel like I’m getting a present when my order arrives.

[icon name=”car” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Road rally fun.  My team, “BadSnapSelfies” is registered for another go.  Can you guess what the theme is this time?

[icon name=”smile-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Laughter with someone who knows me through and through.  You know, the kind of silliness that only two people who know each other well have together.  Things that no one else recognize as funny.

[icon name=”angle-up” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Yoga. Especially with CeCe.  I leave feeling refreshed and taller.

[icon name=”heart” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]Posts from faraway friends, sharing their adventures.  You know who you are.  I love seeing the joy of your child’s first steps in wet sand, your grandchild’s grin, and your yet-to-be-identified new confidant.

[icon name=”phone” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] [tweetthis] Long phone conversations. Chuck the texting. I love hearing voices.[/tweetthis]

[icon name=”hand-peace-o” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  New adventures.  Coco is about to embark on new independence.  She asked me not to tell until she’s sure. Still we share the same excited trepidation.
