This sweet kitten is a bit of “Kawaii,” because, you know, just looking at cute things can help us feel more positive about each other. This cat really evokes in me the desire to hug.
Something is in the air pushes me to focus on DELIGHT this year.
April is National Month of Hope. Mothers In Crisis, Inc. founded National Month of Hope to help spread hope around the world. I plan to share a quote about hope on the Mondays of April.
As a reminder of what delight can do for us, here’s a bit of inspiration from NPR.

Here’s a few other things that delighted me this week:
Peepsi: I’m not a big Pepsi fan and I can honestly say that I find Peeps pretty despicable. And the idea of Peep flavored Pepsi sounds pretty awful. Still, naming it Peepsi, just tickles the dickens out of me.
Blossoms: They are everywhere. Hyacinths, snowdrops, magnolias, and my wave of daffodils. Delight fills my senses. I spent a lot of time pulling back the ground cover so my daffodils can breathe. I’m sure that added to my delight.
The first butterfly of spring: I’m not sure what delighted me more: the butterfly or that Loved-One shouted with excitement, “You’ve got to see this.” The she was, fluttering around the potted hyacinth and over to the mum on my porch. I tried to get a photo, but it flitted out of sight, not to be seen again that day.
I hope you find delight this week.
I know it makes me feel better to jot down a few things and remind myself how much delight I have in my life.
I feel freer now that 74% of senior citizens have at least one dose of the vaccine. Still, it’s no time to let our guard down. The variants will soon be the predominant strain in my state. Let’s get the number of vaccinated people up to 80% of the adults.
In the meantime, don’t forget to practice the five Ws:
- Wear a mask;
- Watch your distance,
- Wash your hands, and
- Work together to overcome hesitancy.
- And Win this war.
It’s okay to wear your mask, even if those around you are not.
How about you? What absolutely filled you with delight this week? Please share. Chances are you will delight me!
