What delights you this week? Here’s a bit of “Kawaii.” Just looking at cute things can help us feel more positive about each other.
Something is in the air pushes me to focus on DELIGHT this year.
As a reminder of what delight can do for us, here’s a bit of inspiration from NPR.
Today is Waffle Day. OOOOhhh! Now that’s my kind of waffle.
Maybe I’ll have a waffle for dinner today.

August is National Immunization Awareness Month. Let’s roll up our sleeves, check our vaccination records, and encourage others to do the same thing. CDC.gov has all kinds of tools to help with your assessment of which vaccinations you and your loved ones need. There’s more to vaccination than Covid-19. And now the Phizer vaccine is approved for those of us over 16 years old.

Here’s a few things that delight me this week:
Road Trip: CoCo and I traveled to Michigan for a Crandell Reunion. Five hours, just the two of us. What a delight. And that doesn’t even count a delightful day with cousins and an uncle who just passed his 90th birthday; or two whole days with Mom. All outside. Family being careful to protect our most vulnerable.
Long shadows: For some reason that defies explanation, the long shadows of early autumn delight me. Maybe it’s memories of school starting. I was that crazy girl who l-o-v-e loved school.

Dream Prints: Lately, I’ve been waking up in the morning with a dream-print that makes me smile. I might have the words to I Wanna Hold Your Hand running through my head. Or a silly phase from a dream. The last one was, “The meaning of life can be found in yogurt.” I don’t remember the dream. All that remains is flicker that starts my day with a smile. Just a dream-print.
The more I look for things that delight me, the more I find delights. There’s so much in the world that makes me smile.
I hope you find delight this week.
Vaccination rates in my state are finally moving. We are now at 65%. School re-instated a mask mandate.

If you were hesitant, I hope yesterday’s approval of the Pfizer vaccine helps allay your fears.
I am shocked to learn that the county where I live has 97% of ICU beds occupied. Yikes! Our local paper highlighted a 12-year-old with Long Covid. The CDC warns that the Delta variant is much more contagious and may lead to more severe illness.
Some people are too young, others are immune-compromised or have other medical issues. Let’s be neighborly and protect those that can’t get vaccinated.
I really look forward to the day that I no longer feel the need to update readers on this subject!
I hope this week brings you delight upon delight.
