What delights you this week? Here’s a bit of “Kawaii.” This wide-eyed kitten really made me smile. It may be just the pose that delights me. What do you think?

Something is in the air pushes me to focus on DELIGHT this year.

As a reminder of what delight can do for us, here’s a bit of inspiration from NPR.

Today is National Electronic Greeting Day. So how about sending someone a delightful GIF.

Here’s a few other things that delight me this week:

Old friends: This week I reconnected with my best friend from Kindergarten, Connie. We’re blood-sisters, too. She sent me an envelope of photos. The one that delighted me the most is our Kindergarten class photo. See me looking at Connie at the end of the row? She delighted me even then.

As I prepared this post, Loved-One popped in and commented, “You look so happy, what’s going on?” I showed him the photo. He put his finger on the little-girl-me. “Of course that’s you. The one who’s not doing what she’s told.” Double delight.

Newer Friends: The galley copies arrrived of Jim’s and John’s book, Growing North. This week I met with John and and his wife Deb.I feel like the midwife that just helped birth a new baby, handing it over to its father. How delightful. I met Deb a few years ago when I interviewed her for the newspaper I wrote for. Another double delight. I am so lucky to meet new and interesting people doing exactly what I love to do: write.

A silly mistake: CoCo (and facebook) never tire of coming up with new projects. This year it’s reindeer pretzels. They did turn out so cute. But it’s the ones that broke that gave me a spark of delight. They look so surprised at their fate. Whoops! How did this happen to me? Whyeee me?

The more I look for things that delight me, the more I find delights. There’s so much in the world that makes me smile.

I hope this week brings you delight upon delight.
