OFOTW and NaPoWriMo Mashup

Today’s challenge:  write a poem that addresses itself or some aspect of its self (i.e. “Dear Poem,” or “what are my quatrains up to?”; “Couplet, come with me . . .”) This might seem a little meta at first, or even kind of cheesy. But it can be a great way of interrogating (or at least, asking polite questions) of your own writing process and the motivations you have for writing, and the motivations you ascribe to your readers.

This seems impossible.  Oh well, What’s a challenge, without a challenge. First the outfit. I’m ready to go to my ASQ leadership meeting. I love these giant snaps on my favorite blue blazer.  If anyone has tips on keeping a collared shirt to stay in place, please pass them along.  I have a devil of a time. (Magic trick: floating pile of books. Yes, I edited out some spurious papers on my desktop.)

Words chosen with care, then edited away

Neater and primmer in hopes to convey

Blue is not blue, but something akin.

Is is baby or navy or cyan or cobalt?

Something less common, keeping leftish of noble.

A feeling, a mood, an attitude, a season,

A reason.

Poem, oh verse, convey who I am

Signature with words, reveal something within.
