Outfit of the Week: Lunch at Rainforest Cafe

It’s been a while since I posted an outfit.  I’m sure you’re not interested in what I wear while typing or to the gym.

Today CoCo and I went to Rainforest Cafe.  We celebrated her friend Allison’s birthday with lunch, a huge desert, and a little shopping. It’s the first of Allison’s birthdays that has come and gone without her in this world. Rainforest is one of their favorite spots.  (For more about our loss and what Allison gave to us, click here.)

So here’s what I wore on our outing. My Costco lacy sweater and my brand new Lee Rider jeans for curvy women. I forgot how much I love the fit of Lee jeans.  No big gap at the waist. Now that they’ve added a bit of stretch to the denim, they fit even better.  And they were on sale at Farm and Fleet.  Yay.

I have on a navy cami under the sweater. [tweetthis]I learned a trick I learned from Quintessential Style,[/tweetthis] by Janna Beatty. It’s called creating a base, in this case navy is my base. I even have on my super-comfy navy Aerosoles suede loafers. The necklace is the only semi-splurgy article, from WhiteHouse|BlackMarket.

We ate the ice cream and a bit of the gooey brownie and brought the rest home to Loved-One.

What’s your favorite style of jeans?  Am I the last one to know about building a base?

(Oh, and in case you’ve wondered… Next week the big reveal on the magical wrinkle reducing cream.  I even have a video.)
