Pause, Breathe, and Take Stock: 2017-20

I had a busy week, and a busier weekend:  Little league Baseball, dance recital, graduation, church, and Wonder Woman.  I missed a concert, a graduation party, Mom’s Todo Party, and a coveted Pentecost mass.  I wish I could be in three places at once.  In the meantime, I’m practicing being in the now.  Whooo!  I am, indeed, blessed.

Here are a few more things, in no particular order, that make me give me reason to give thanks:

[icon name=”graduation-cap” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Stairs, stairs, and more stairs.  Thanks to trains, subways, and work, I now get in about 30 flights of stairs.  My gluteus muscles feel it, too.

[icon name=”graduation-cap” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  My editor, Lisa Romeo, who posted my thank you to her on Facebook.

[icon name=”graduation-cap” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  The large print edition of A Ship of Pearl.  With that tucked away, libraries can recommend my book to their book clubs. You can buy it on Amazon, if you prefer large print.

[icon name=”graduation-cap” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Facebook recipes; especially  the one for  lovely carrot cake.  It was super easy, and it looks as good as the Pinterest photo.  Here’s the link, if you’d like to try it.   And here’s how it turned out for me:

[icon name=”graduation-cap” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  The bravery of Ariana Grande (and her mother.). It must have been so hard, and so generous to do a fundraiser it the same city as the terrorist attack.

[icon name=”graduation-cap” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Christine Rice, author of Swarm Theory,  and her generous agreement to attend the Rez Book Club.   cIf you haven’t yet read her book, please do.  She won Chicago Writes 2017 Book of the Year, honorable mentions.

[icon name=”graduation-cap” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]  Chicago’s Printers’ Row coming up this weekend.  There promises to be so much to learn.  I’ll be in two different booths this year. My grandson, the illustrator of The Fable of Little Tzurie, agreed to come along with me.  That’s like icing on the carrot cake.

That’s just a little taste of the pleasures of my life.  [tweetthis]What causes you delight this week? [/tweetthis]Please share. Your comments always make me remember more reasons to give thanks.
