Pause, Breathe, and Take Stock: 2017-37

Along with most of the nation, the irrationality of someone choosing to gun down people enjoying a concert continues to haunt me.  For me, this is the ultimate act of terror.  Anyone: enjoying a concert, the 4th of July fireworks, a baseball game, waiting for a train… you name it. It would be easier if the killer had tell-tale signs. Rather, he’s  someone who buys a house for his mother, takes care of his girlfriend, and is loved by his brother. He’s someone whose friends attest to his caring nature.

Sometimes it seems almost wrong to count my blessings in the wake of this tragedy and the natural disasters that ruined the lives of so many people in the past 30 days. And yet, babies are born, birthdays are celebrated, and weddings are planned. Simple things like warm weather bring smiles. The world moves on.

So today, I will show you some photos of clouds, and remind myself that “It’s clouds illusions I recall.  I really don’t know clouds at all.” Joni Mitchell about sums it up for me. So take a moment, listen, pray, meditate, regroup. And get ready to create a better world.  Somehow.
