Remember when the prep-election press started shining a flashlight on Project 2025? I say a flashlight, because it wasn’t that bright of a light, and the batteries seemed to expire rather quickly.
“Oh that’s just some people in a think tank,” is what I heard one family member say.
“It’ll never happen,” another friend said.
“Just something the Democrats are clutching their pearls over.”
And the dismissals when on and on.
Well, guess what?
This administration already completed 48% of the Project 2026 objectives?
I’ve been keeping track on the beautiful Project 2025 Tracker.

I did read the entire Project 2025 text, which was no easy feat for me. With the Tracker, I can follow the Agency, and drill down to the specifics. Or I can sort by subject.
I admit, it’s difficult for me to pick which of the subjects or departments I most want demonstrate for you. I care so much about Health. I care about Immigrants, I care about Education, I care about the Environment. Maybe you care about something else.
So much is going on in the Chicago area right now with ICE. I’ll pick that to demonstrate.
Project 2025 Homeland Security Objectives
The Tracker includes a reference page and link to the source, so we can check it out ourselves. There are 35 objectives for Homeland Security. Fifteen are completed and nine are in progress.

Those objectives “In-Progress include:
- Eliminate standard of care for immigrant children;
- Eliminate “most” DHS grant programs;
- Eliminate special visas for victims of trafficking and those who help law enforcement;
- Eliminate or severely reduce visa to foreign students;
- 4 more
Those objects “Not Started include:
- End chain migration;
- End protections for unaccompanied minors;
- Eleminate Office of Intelligence;
- 6 more.
I can track using subject, instead of Department.
Project 2025 has 33 objectives for immigration across 5 different agencies.
Besides the objectives for Homeland Security, Defense, State, Justice, and Housing Departments are involved in changing our approach to immigration.
The Department of Defense is sending active duty troops and National Guardsmen to assist with border control. And, they are in the midst of building border walls.
The Department of State indefinitely curtailed USRAP refugee admissions. And, they are Suspending all visas to people from countries that do not accept the return of immigrants ordered deported.
The Department of Justice issued guidance to all U.S. Attorneys “emphasizing the importance of prosecuting immigration offenses.” The DOJ issued a memo stating that “sanctuary jurisdictions should not receive access to federal grants administered by the Department of Justice.” Boston has been sued over its sanctuary status.
Even the Department of Housing has an objective: to ban mixed-status families (U.S. citizens and noncitizens) from living in all federally assisted housing. ProPublica obtained a draft proposed rule that would ban mixed-status families from public housing.
Choose a subject or department that you’re interested in.
Maybe you are more concerned about the environment. Or maybe you’re wondering what objectives exist for Trading and Commodities. Maybe you’re interested in Medicare changes. Please hop over to the Tracker and see what’s in store. I like to follow the link to the text of Project 2025 and put everything in context. There are 319 objectives spread over 34 agencies. I’m sure there’s something there that you care about.
While you’re there, buy this person a cup of coffee.
I know I did.
