What delights you this week? Here’s a bit of “Kawaii.” These are my two cats, Sasha and Misha. Two sisters that really love each other. Just looking at cute things can help us feel more positive about each other. What delights you today?
Something is in the air pushes me to focus on DELIGHT this year.
As a reminder of what delight can do for us, here’s a bit of inspiration from NPR.
Today is National Punster Day. I know puns are considered the lowest form of humor, still, I love a good pun. So in honor of the Day:
“It’s hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.” To check out more, click here.
Here’s a few other things that delight me this week:
Puffballs: Love-One came in with this one. His smile immediately brought me back to childhood when Dad brought puffballs in for Mom to fry for breakfast. “Dee-een,” she’d squeel. “You’re going to poison us all.” He, always the more adventurous.
I called her to get the recipe, but by that time, Loved-One concluded I was just joking, and returned the puffball to the deer.
Texting Mom: Mom and I have the same flowering bush that refuses to bloom. This year, I’ve been texting her progress. Last week you saw my high hopes. This week I texted her that the race was over, and the frost won. She delights me. So did the race.
A Silly Shipment: I ordered a dishwashing brush. You know, the kind that dispenses a little soap, so you can clean that one thing without a whole sink full of water. It’s especially good for a quick rinse before the dishwasher. Well, one piece arrived and that piece was broken.
It gave me quite a chuckle and made my imagination run wild. Was it a practical joke? What did the packer think I wanted? Did he wonder why I ordered a broken part? I had a quick and painless refund and replace process, which is part of why I could take delight in the silliness.

The more I look for things that delight me, the more I find delights. There’s so much in the world that makes me smile.
I hope this week brings you delight upon delight.
