Today’s writing prompt takes the form of a question:

What do you complain about the most?

A writing prompt from WordPress

Another 50-word story. This time following a prompt from WordPress.

Where were you?” Grandpa’s grip matched the knot in his brow.

“Looking.” Emily gestured toward the exhibits.

“We’ve gone through three floors already. Mostly looking for you.”

“Surgical procedures, blood vessels, eyes in jars.”

“It’s time to go.”

“Can we come back?” Emily quavered.

Grandpa shrugged. “You’re already a scientist.”

I first recognized the “prayer” form of gossip a few years ago. Someone gives riveting details about Mary’s poor circumstances while asking everyone to pray for her. If you’re not a church-goer, it can take another benevolent form. I bet you know what I mean.

This prompt came from WordPress, so I have no particular prompt site to send you to. But, I did find this post from James Proclaims as he complains about his new shoes. I like his byline: “The wit and wisdom from a man who has neither..” Just that compelled me to add James to my reading list.

I hope you like my 50-word stories. Confining myself to exactly 50 words is both challenging and fun. I never quite know where my mind and keyboard will take me on these little stories.
