Photo Friday: Purple Springs Through Brown

Spring is my favorite time of the year.  So much color and hope.  Sometimes it takes a close look to recognize it’s coming.  I’m watching. First, for the red oaks finally let go of their leaves. Next for the crocuses to push their noses through, as if that fresh blanket of leaves annoys them.  I brush the leaves back hoping to help my hopeful little friends.

I love the way the shadows play across the colors.

Oh my, look closer. There’s a little bit of sunshine inside each purple blossom.

Since I took these shots on Monday, the daffodils began to open and the dogwood is beginning to say hello springtime.  Someone must lead the way.  Thank you red oak for letting go of winter.

Do you eagerly await spring flowers, too? Hop on over to Pierced Wondering a take a peek at her beautiful purple wisteria.
