Reposting a beautifully written Quote of the Day

This essay came across my “desk” early this morning. It is so beautifully written. Every sentence is gorgeously composed. Every word has import. I wish I could write like that.

Here’s what caught me right away: “It’s a strange kind of arrogance, thinking you can be everyone’s medicine. You convince yourself it’s compassion, that you’re being noble — but if you strip away the performance, it’s fear. Fear of being useless. Fear of being replaced. Fear that if you stop fixing, you’ll disappear.)

Are you someone who looks for the solution to every problem? Do you have trouble just sitting, holding yourself back from jumping into action? I know I do.

Personal Reflection: I grew up believing there was always an answer — that effort could fix anything if you just pushed hard enough. Work the problem…
