This is the week that the CUBs, in a nail-biter game, kept hope alive for so many fans. Me included. So, for the first time in my history, I put October baseball at the top of my list. #GoCubsGo!
Another Monday, another day to take stock of the little and big things that make my life abundant.

The past few weeks, I dissected the Republican and Democratic Party Platforms.
Just so I can keep everything straight, I put the information into a simple chart, like I would for corporate goals. This is also the way CoCo’s Individual Education Plans got laid out, too. Pretty easy to understand; I think: We will______________ by_____________ so that______________ happens. I added a column for how the action will be financed, too. Sadly that’s pretty empty.

How could I fail to mention a soul full of hearty gratitude for a Cubs win this weekend? Of course! I mean, I’ve only been a fan for 30 or so years. I’ve only been around for one sorrowful example of the curse come true, the Bartman Ball. Oh, poor Bartman, he was only following the instincts of any baseball fan: catch the ball. I missed the 1969 Black Cat curse, and the Billy Goat curse happened before I was even born. It’s been 71 years since the Cubs won at NL pennant and 108 years since they won the World Series. Yes, this could be the year for the Lovable Losers. And who better for the Cubs to play against than the team with the next longest drought: the Cleveland Indians. After going through this exercise, I have a whole new reaction when I watch people on TV respond to the debates. “Read the Platforms!” I shout at the TV. “If you expect to learn what the Presidential candidate wants to do, “Read the Platforms.” You can also learn what the candidate doesn’t know about his party’s platform, too.
I’m reviewing and comparing the Democrat and Republican Party Platforms. I’m doing this because there’s more to the election than getting a new President. I already know who I want for my next President. I, like, Thomas L. Friedman of The New York Times, hope that all 50 states go to one candidate.
Both Parties want good healthcare and education for its families.
The Republican Party has 1o pages to “Great American Families, Education, Healthcare, and Criminal Justice.” The Democrats have nine pages Education, Health and Safety for All Americans.

[tweetthis]I’m still basking in the afterglow of the Zoom launch party for A Ship of Pearl. That was some crazy and some fun.[/tweetthis] Eighteen connections and 46 people. Wow! Thank you. Surprise guests showed up. Steve Kleinedler (I call him Mr. Dictionary) who was my sister’s neighbor’s son, and is a wonderful supporter in big and little ways. You may know him as a guest on NPR, telling us about the latest new words. Chad Green, the cover designer, joined from the fire station where he works when he’s not designing. Chad is my cousin Linda’s son. Renée joined us. She’s the woman with the magic scissors; she makes my hair so easy that even I can style it. And, not but never least, the illustrator for The Fable of Little Tzurie, Niall Brady, joined us. It was homecoming night for Niall. He took a few minutes out of his busy schedule to join Grandma’s party. My Clown Car Masterminds represented, too.
